Today really rocked. My morning started off right without the alarm breaking my slumber, I opened my eyes with the new found realization that I could breathe. (#1 positive morning moment) Through both nostrils. (#2 positive morning moment) Cedar allergy is heavy this time of year and apparently the universe was conspiring against my will to remain untouched for the last few days, because it delivered its annoyances (that might not be a word) into my house. Last night it took a hike. Hence, my rocking start to a great day. I had a very productive day working on projects and finalizing the end of the year tasks. Have I mentioned how much I love my job? I am really fortunate to have the opportunity to work for one of the best corporations in the world. In saying that, when I become engrossed in my pleasurable tasks I listen to Pandora. This of course gives me that extra mojo that pushes me through the mid day nap time blues that creeps in every so often. Today was different though, I heard this amazing song by a Christian rock band, Hawk Nelson. It is titled "Words" and premiers in iTunes January 15th. Fortunate for me that is tomorrow! Seriously, though, check out the simple acoustic piece on YouTube.
WORDS
They've made me feel like a prisoner
They've made me feel set free
They've made me feel like a criminal
Made me feel like a king
They've lifted my heart
To places I'd never been
And they've dragged me down
Back to where I began
Words can build you up
Words can break you down
Start a fire in your heart or
Put it out
Let my words be life
Let my words be truth
I don't wanna say a word
Unless it points the world back to You
You can heal the heartache
Speak over the fear
God, Your voice is the only thing
We need to hear
Words can build us up
Words can break us down
Start a fire in our hearts or
Put it out
Let the words I say
Be the sound of Your grace
I don't wanna say a word
Unless it points the world back to You
I wanna speak Your love
Not just another noise
Oh, I wanna be Your light
I wanna be Your voice
Let the words I say
(Let the words I say)
Be the sound of Your grace
(Sound like Your grace)
I don't wanna say a word
Unless it points the world back to You
